Not Sponsored, Just Obsessed
Gifted beauty products that earned a permanent place in my routine.
Taking the group chat to Substack. My girlfriends love raiding my rapidly growing PR closet and frequently ask what products are “worth it”. Figured I would let you all in on the secret. Here are products I was gifted, but have replaced the empties with my hard earned dollars.
Starting with Skincare. Last year I developed an allergy to fragrances, so until January, I only used lotion. Jumping back into the skincare world this year has been fun and finding products I can actually use has been the cherry on top.
Obsessed. Like obsessed, with Vetted’s Retinol. It is the only retinol product I have tried without any side effects (peeling, dry skin, etc) and see significant results. I am on my 3rd bottle.
In a close second, loving all things Fre Skin. The Vitamin C feels like Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen & Sunday Riely’s Vitamin C Oil had a baby — the texture is luxurious. Not to mention the tinted sunscreen actually works.
I have always thought under eye anything was a joke. The Diamond Cocoon changed that. Easily the priciest option on the list. That being said, I wear it daily as skincare and makeup. There is no creasing, it brightens. It just does it all.
The Molecular Genesis has been a great, non sticky, but very hydrating lotion for evening. It has helped to get rid of the “stripes” on my forehead as my niece calls them.
& after skincare comes makeup. I have always gone for light, easy routines. I was a fan of Merit, Ilia… all the “clean beauty” players. But, have ventured out a bit and found a routine that I love and can do in under 5 minutes.
Okay… I get the primer argument now. The Merit primer and their new Uniform foundation is an elite combo when I am going out.
Always was a fan of the Merit concealer and bronzer and I find they work better with the Merit base products.
Big change in my routine… I am an eyeliner girl now. And the SOSHE eyeliner literally makes application dummy proof. Truly the easiest and fastest to apply.
And of course we top it off with mascara. Again with SOSHE here, it’s not clumpy, doesn’t leave marks on my lid… just easy (picking up on a theme here?)
And last, but certainly not least, the body.
Converted to natural deodorant this year. Big fan of Salt & Stone Natural Deodorant and while I love the scent of Santal, I find the Bergamont scent is a bit fresher.
Megababe Night Rescue is a sneaky product. I wasn’t expecting much, but it helps with any shadow, razor burn, imperfections on your underarms. It has become a part of my nightly routine.
Before Hanni, I was an Aveeno Eczema gal. IYKYK, but it is basically like vasline, too thick for summer. This Hanni Slash Salve you use in the shower, but it truly leaves you moisturized, and not sticky.
That’s the round-up. If you’ve ever side-eyed an influencer’s “favorites” list, I get it — but these are the gifted products I’ve actually spent my own money on. No fluff, no filler, just the ride-or-dies that made it out of the PR pile and into my real-life routine.
