The Investment Handbags I Own, Love, and What’s Currently on My Radar
From East-West clutches to timeless top-handle icons—here’s what’s worth the splurge (and why).
Let’s talk investment handbags—because if you’re anything like me, they aren’t just accessories, they’re part of how you style. A bag can ground a look, elevate it, or instantly make it feel more intentional. So today I’m breaking down two styles currently catching my eye, plus the three I already own and absolutely do not regret buying.
This isn’t a wish list for the sake of it. These are real style choices that work hard in a wardrobe—and make getting dressed easier, not harder.
What’s on My Radar: East-West Clutches
I’ll be honest—when I first saw the east-west clutch trend, I wasn’t totally sold. It felt like a moment. But the more I saw it, styled and lived with it, the more I appreciated the simplicity of the shape and how easily it can be dressed up or down.
It’s also a silhouette I don’t currently have in my collection, which makes it even more appealing. I’m currently eyeing two options that feel elevated, wearable, and like they'd fill a true gap in my wardrobe—not just a trend-driven itch.
The Bags I Own and Would Buy Again in a Heartbeat
1. Bottega Veneta Andiamo (in Denim)
This bag is everything I want in an everyday carry:
✔️ Top handle
✔️ Shoulder option
✔️ Crossbody strap
✔️ Incredibly well-made
I own the denim print version, which is no longer available, but if I were buying it now, I’d probably go for a neutral tone. I like my larger bags to be versatile enough to wear often, and I save my pops of color for smaller bags.
But overall? I’m obsessed with Bottega's leather. The craftsmanship holds up beautifully and the quality just feels unmatched. It’s one of the few designer brands I truly think gets better with time.
2. Chanel Flap Bag (Top Handle Version)
The one I own isn’t available anymore, but I linked two similar versions here. What I love most about it is the structure. It feels sturdy and well-built, which means I can take it from day to night without being too precious.
It also has just enough flexibility to be functional: a top handle, a crossbody strap, and even a slim slot in the back for your phone or a tiny wallet. You can dress it up or down, and it never looks out of place.
3. Small Lady Dior (Patent Red)
This one took me a minute to fully embrace—but now she’s one of my favorites. The patent red felt bold when I first got her, which kept me from reaching for her right away. But as my style has evolved, I’ve grown to love how much of a statement she makes.
I also love the classic quilted versions in cream and other neutral tones—they’re timeless. But what really sets the Lady Dior apart is her structured square shape. Smaller bags like this, especially ones with a distinct silhouette, are my go-tos for evenings or polished day looks. They elevate without overcomplicating.
My Handbag Philosophy in a Nutshell
Bigger bags: I go neutral so I can wear them more often.
Smaller bags: I go for color or shape to make them pop.
Structure over slouch, always.
And if I’m investing, it has to function for my life—not just look pretty on a shelf.
Whether you’re building your dream bag collection or just looking for the one perfect everyday style, I hope this gives you some clarity (or inspiration). If you're curious, I linked all my picks and current crushes here.
xoxo,
